BLUE SELF

Original Painting
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Original Size: 16" × 20" (40.6 × 50.8 cm)

Blue Self represents my deeper, more introspective side—the version of myself that thinks, observes, questions, and sometimes disappears too far into its own thoughts. The figure is dominated by blue, a color that gives the portrait a colder and more melancholic atmosphere than the other works in the Self series. The face seems to emerge from layers of blue, green, black, and fragments of warmer color, as though different thoughts and emotions are moving beneath the surface at the same time. The eyes remain direct and alert, creating a contrast between an outward stillness and a much more active internal world. For me, melancholy is not necessarily the same as sadness; it can also be a space of reflection, imagination, memory, and deep thought. Blue Self represents the quiet, analytical, and melancholic part of me—the self that retreats inward, observes the world, and searches for meaning beneath what is immediately visible.

My work is born from the intersection of nature, science, history, philosophy, psychology, spirituality, and sacred geometry. I am fascinated by the patterns, symbols, and invisible connections that exist between living beings. Through abstraction and symbolism, I seek to create paintings that invite the viewer to pause, question what they observe, and discover their own interpretations.
