RED SELF

Original Painting
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Original Size: 16" × 20" (40.6 × 50.8 cm)

Red Self represents my creative self—the part of me driven by imagination, instinct, experimentation, and the need to make something that did not exist before. Rather than portraying creativity as something calm or controlled, the painting reflects the energy and unpredictability that I associate with the creative process. The intense red surrounding the figure creates a sense of heat and urgency, while the yellow face and spontaneous marks push against the boundaries of a conventional portrait. The features remain recognizable, but they become freer, more exaggerated, and less concerned with realism, revealing an early movement toward the visual language I would later continue to develop. Red becomes a symbol of creative energy: passionate, restless, impulsive, and sometimes chaotic. Red Self represents the part of me that wants to experiment without knowing exactly where an idea will lead—the creative self that would eventually become central to my identity as an artist.

My work is born from the intersection of nature, science, history, philosophy, psychology, spirituality, and sacred geometry. I am fascinated by the patterns, symbols, and invisible connections that exist between living beings. Through abstraction and symbolism, I seek to create paintings that invite the viewer to pause, question what they observe, and discover their own interpretations.
