SOPA DE LETRAS

Original Painting
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Original Size: 24" × 36" (61 × 91.4 cm)

Sopa de Letras transforms the familiar structure of a word-search puzzle into a chaotic field of color, symbols, numbers, letters, and hidden possibilities. The title literally translates as “letter soup,” reflecting the way language becomes scattered across the canvas, waiting for the viewer to search for connections within what initially appears random. The painting is organized through a grid, yet almost every square develops its own identity. Letters mix with numbers, hearts, stars, geometric forms, symbols, and small drawings, turning the rigid structure into something playful and unpredictable. Larger forms emerge from the field while other messages remain buried within it, encouraging the eye to move across the painting rather than settle on a single focal point. For me, the work plays with the way the human mind naturally searches for meaning. Sopa de Letras invites the viewer to search rather than simply look, turning the painting into a visual puzzle in which meaning can be discovered, imagined, or created.

My work is born from the intersection of nature, science, history, philosophy, psychology, spirituality, and sacred geometry. I am fascinated by the patterns, symbols, and invisible connections that exist between living beings. Through abstraction and symbolism, I seek to create paintings that invite the viewer to pause, question what they observe, and discover their own interpretations.
